Artist Statement: This book depicts the day my family and I went to Marineland in Canada. Using line thickness to show rase in emotions like in the first page where the road gets thicker the closer to the edge it is showing rise in excitement as we got closer to Canada. In the third page the change from the light lines used for the deer to the thick lines of the bears show that feeding bears was more intense than the deer. The line rapped around the Sky Screamer on the fourth page shows a rise in fear as we got closer to the ride. The last page shows us leaving, the road stays even as there is no raised emotion as we make our way home. The use of organic lines gives the animals more of a natural feel then geometric would. The clean even lines show improvement from my former works where I would go over lines after they had already been drawn. The simple abstract like designs allows viewers to fallow the story easier without getting lost in small details.
