Project 6: Pattern and Layering

Stars.jpgPaint                                                                                                                      Dec 2015

The dark intensity change mid ground contrast the primary and secondary colors of the stars in the foreground and are themselves highlighted by the velvety black background. Before painting I considered how I wanted the image to look the bright stars coming forward while the cubes are pushed back into the ink like blackness of the background giving depth to the image. The stars are made of the to primary colors that make the secondary color between them in the first three while the last two are the primary colors on one star and the secondary colors on the other.
