In the center an opening flower that reveals a dragon’s eye staring straight out into the world as if in a trance. The design continues out to the Yin Yang symbols that spin in harmony around the flower. Above the Yin Yang is a serpent dragon that moves in an infinity symbol chasing its tail as a sign of its long life while pink clouds float by peacefully. Around the edge is a boarder of red and yellow that fight for dominance but are forever equal.
Creating the phenakistoscope helped in understanding that creating animated images one must be careful with placement of the image. One wrong placed image could cause the animation to be interrupted. The movement of the objects themselves has to be planed out so the movements are seamless.
